Gentle Weapons Emerges from Stealth
Gentle Weapons raises pre-seed financing to build AI infrastructure for hardware deployment in contested environments at the edge
JULY 21, 2026 — PHOENIX, AZ — Gentle Weapons, a foundational AI infrastructure company, announced their pre-seed round of financing led by Antler Ventures. The company builds an agnostic AI systems layer to ship, sustain, and scale next-generation defense robotics and autonomy platforms at the edge.
Operating in contested, degraded, edge environments is a massive challenge. Adding in the expectation of communication across diverse systems makes it exponentially harder. The battlefield demands physical AI that is reliable, resilient and delivers at the speed of need.
In order to ship autonomous platforms today, hardware engineering teams must solve for complex security engineering — inter-system networking, encryption, deployment configuration — that stands the risk of becoming outdated by the time systems are fielded.
Gentle Weapons provides the common control plane infrastructure for defense edge AI, addressing the software stack below the model and providing the necessary hardening for diverse, unpredictable autonomous missions.
“A new generation of defense engineers are harnessing incredible advances in AI to deliver consequential systems for the mission,” said Jk Jensen, CEO of Gentle Weapons. “We want them to focus on the core capability they deliver for the warfighter knowing we’re delivering on their core infrastructure. We’re on a mission to give engineers across the defense industry the superpowers to ship and scale from one to one million units knowing the AI kit underlying their platforms is secure end-to-edge, metal to model.”
Jensen founded the company in fall of 2025. Bringing together backgrounds in physical AI system deployment, exabyte-scale data intelligence software, and industry-leading security services, the Gentle Weapons team has experience at Meta Reality Labs, Amazon, and DeDrone.
Built specifically for edge compute in the field, Gentle Weapons provides the edge-ready foundational system on which to deploy at scale. The solution stack has three components: A hardened Linux distribution base purpose-built to run AI workloads in production, an edge-first self-forming private mesh network, and a deployment system for next-gen AI workloads on autonomous platforms. By wrapping hardware in a hardened software interface, Gentle Weapons eliminates bespoke integration builds between components, accelerates deployment, and enables engineers to focus on the critical functionality of their platforms.
Working with pilot customers operating across complex autonomy applications, the company is actively seeking design partners leveraging edge platforms including Nvidia Jetson, Raspberry Pi, and Qualcomm.
Gentle Weapons is part of the Nvidia Inception Program and supported by the Southwest Mission Acceleration Center. With the funding, the team will sprint towards a V1 release this fall and build out early dual-use go-to-market motion.
About Gentle Weapons
Gentle Weapons is an American technology company building the infrastructure layer for next-generation defense autonomy. While our customers in defense deliver capabilities to warfighters who have to make platforms work in unpredictable environments, we take on the responsibility of delivering software-enabled physical systems in critical scenarios at scale.
We build one stack, for one mission: protect and defend via scalable deployed systems — because national interest requires capabilities that can lead the world, ship fast, and scale effortlessly. For more information visit https://gentleweapons.com/.
